We came by
this piece
while going
through an
older home
which was to
be
demolished.
The owner
gave us
permission
to go
through the
home and
take
anything
which the
family left
and did not
want or
take. |

I found out that it
was a guard for eye
ware or glasses for
sports such as
baseball or
softball. Of the two
I am not sure which
applies to this
piece. Over the past
years I've searched
for one like it on
the Internet but
have not found
anything like it
since I began
looking. |
Stamped on the brow
portion are the
numbers
1879.
I have no idea if
this is a date or
lot number, etc. |
